How the ledger works
Each weekly issue includes a regime call — one of four named states. When the call changes from one week to the next, the prior state's end date is recorded and the new state begins. Both dates are written into the ledger file the moment the issue is published.
Calls are never edited after publication. If a call ages badly, that's part of the record. If a call ages well, that's part of the record too. The point of the ledger is not to be flattering — it's to be auditable.
The revisions counter in the masthead is the strongest factual claim on the site. As long as it reads 0, you can trust that no call you read on this page has been quietly improved after the fact.
